Germantown, TN- The Jones Clinic, a hematology and oncology clinic with locations in Germantown, TN, and New Albany, MS, is partnering with The Germantown Cancer Foundation and The Breast Cancer Eradication Initiative to host an important community discussion and meeting on life after cancer on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Methodist Breast Center at the University of Tennessee Medical Group Building in Germantown.
“Living Life After Cancer: Creating a Healthy Survivorship Plan” will feature guest speaker Debra Friedman, M.D., Medical Director, Vanderbilt REACH for Survivorship Program. Dr. Friedman brings her knowledge and experience to Memphis to help cancer survivors and their families learn to adjust and manage their lives after cancer and cancer treatments.
Guests will also benefit from a distinguished medical discussion panel, which will include Tracy A. Johnson, DNP, FNP-BC, Adult Survivors of Adult and Pediatric Cancers, Vanderbilt REACH for Survivorship Program; Allison Schaffer, LCSW, Social Worker, Vanderbilt REACH for Survivorship Program; and Kim Wilson Hardin, RNCS, MSN, CFNP, Nurse Practitioner and Breast Cancer Survivor, The Jones Clinic.
This educational evening will educate people on the long-term effects of cancer, important resources and support opportunities. This program is open to everyone in the community. Current patients, former patients, family members and those looking for more information are all encouraged to attend.
